Political Cartoon: Our well-regulated militia
Daily takes from Pulitzer Prize-winning cartoonist Signe Wilkinson.
“A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.” The authors of the Second Amendment did not seem to be thinking of people like Patrick Crusius, charged with the El Paso shootings, or Connor Betts, who died after shooting to death 9 people in Dayton in 30 seconds, when they wrote “well-regulated."
If you’re looking for someone even more authoritative on this subject than an editorial cartoonist, check out Former FBI special agent and executive officer of the Combating Terrorism Center at West Point Clint Watts’ Wall Street Journal article about shifting our focus onto combating the armed white supremacists who have been inflicting such carnage on our society.
