A TikTok star stayed inside Citizens Bank Park after it closed and was ‘blown away’

GFed, the Michigan-based content creator famous for his 'How long can I stay?' videos, recently visited the ballpark.

TikTok creator GFed doesn’t think Citizens Bank Park gets enough love. Back in June, the TikToker who calls himself “the Internet’s Stadium Tour Guide,” decided to film a video at the baseball stadium.

His video, where he hangs around in the stadium an hour after a Phillies vs. Cardinals game ends, got 255,000 views and over 37,000 likes. Made in his trademark “How long can I stay?” format, the video shows the Michigan-raised content creator lingering in the venue after the Phillies lost in extra innings.

“What’s with everyone leaving a close game early?” he asks in the video as it begins to rain and the audience starts leaving. “Why even buy a ticket?”

GFed, who began making content in March 2023, has over 17 million likes and 435,000 followers on TikTok. He travels the country attending sporting events and doing everything he can to not leave the stadium after a game.

In the CBP episode, he avoids being thrown out by walking in and out of private suites, taking empty elevators, and walking past the wall of fame — stopping to appreciate old photos on the walls and professing his love for the Phanatic, his favorite mascot. “There’s no more endearing figure to make the face of your franchise than a giant green blob.”

“I think a lot of people, when they see games on TV, get curious to see a little bit more behind the scenes,” he said to The Inquirer. “[They wonder] What do these stadiums look like? What separates one place from another and why do some people like different stadiums more than other ones? That’s the main content I’m trying to get across.”

“I do like Citizens Bank Park a lot,” said the TikToker, who was “blown away” by the amenities of the ballpark and finally managed to make his way out of his self-created obstacle course through the doors of the restaurant Pass and Stow. “I don’t think it gets the same love that [the] Wrigleys or Fenways of the world get … but I felt like Citizens Bank, in terms of ballparks with modern amenities and a newer feel, was one of the favorite [venues] I’ve been to,” he said.

The Yard, a play area dedicated to children watching the game, and the bullpen that is accessible for fans to view were his favorite CBP features. The Yard has a Wiffle ball field, rock climbing wall, hot dog shooter, and pitch speed tester. Said GFed: “[The Phillies] do that better than any ballpark that I’ve ever gone to.”

Despite having gone to “around 80% of ballparks, stadiums, and arenas,” GFed said he will wait to rank them until he has visited them all. His glowing review of Philadelphia, however, could mean good things for when his rankings do officially come out.

As the NFL season begins, GFed has already started to plan his fall trips to NCAA and NFL arenas. He has no immediate plans to visit Philadelphia again but wants to attend an Eagles game “to see the true Philly attitude.”

“This was my first game in Philadelphia ... , and I was really, really impressed with the atmosphere that they had at the park,” he said, “I love this ballpark, man.”
