Phillies game against Braves delayed, then postponed
The Phillies rescheduled the game to September.
After waiting for about 2 1/2 hours in a rain delay, the Phillies’ game against the Braves on Wednesday was postponed, the team announced on Wednesday night.
The game will be rescheduled for Sept. 11, when the Phillies will play a separate admission day/night doubleheader against the Braves at home. The day game will be scheduled for 1:05 p.m. and the originally scheduled night game will remain at 6:40 p.m. on Sept. 11.
Tickets and parking purchased directly from the Phillies for the postponed June 21 game will be valid for the rescheduled 1:05 p.m. game on Sept. 11. All exchanges must be completed by Sept. 10, 2023. All fans with tickets to the June 21 game will receive an email from the Phillies with a complimentary ticket offer to select remaining 2023 home games.
Fans who purchased tickets on secondary market sites, like Seat Geek, for the postponed June 21 game will also be able to attend the rescheduled Sept. 11 game at 1:05 p.m.
As of now, the Phillies still have their final game of this three-game home series scheduled for Thursday afternoon. There are scattered showers in the forecast for Thursday morning, but as of now, the rain is supposed to clear later in the day.
The Phillies had the opportunity to push Cris Sanchez, who was originally scheduled to start on Friday, to their series against the Washington Nationals from June 30 to July 2, but instead, they opted to have Sanchez pitch on Saturday. Their rotation over the next few days will lineup like this: Aaron Nola starting Thursday against the Braves, Taijuan Walker starting Friday against the Mets, Sanchez stating Saturday against the Mets and Zack Wheeler starting Sunday against the Mets.
