Turner homered in the series finale against Washington on Sunday, the only loss during this stretch.

The hot stretch comes after one of the worst slumps of Turner’s career. Manager Rob Thomson gave him a day off on Wednesday in the series finale against the Marlins.

Turner was hitting .176/.219/.264 with two home runs and seven RBIs in 21 games after the All-Star break at that point.

He spent that off day reviewing tape of his at-bats from 2020-21 when things were going well. He often goes back to 2021, when he led baseball with a .328 average and 195 hits. “I felt like I was more consistent then,” Turner said.

Turner’s stat line since that day off spent reviewing the tape: .476/.500/1.262 with one home run, three doubles, four RBIs, and 10 hits in 21 at-bats.
