A West Chester schools task force was asked to identify budget cuts and new revenue sources, and it will announce its findings - worth $3 million - at 7 p.m. tomorrow.

The West Chester Area School District Community Budget Task Force was asked to help close a projected budget gap of approximately $5 million, or 3 percent of the the annual budget for the 2012-2013 school year. The report will be presented in the West Chester East High School auditorium, 450 Ellis Lane, West Chester.

As demands for services continue to increase and revenues are forecast to decrease again in the coming year, the district wants to hear directly from the community about priorities for funding programs. The school board will begin evaluating the task force's findings in January and will incorporate accepted ones in the final budget by June 2012, a district news release said.  For more information, minutes of all sub-committee meetings, and a list of commonly-asked budget questions, visit http://www.edline.net/pages/West_Chester_Area_SD/About_Us/Budget/Budget_Task_Force.
