PhillyClout heard a lot of smack talk between City Council staffers and administration staffers late last week. And for once, it had nothing to do with the city's deficit-troubled budget. No, this was all about basketball.
In a grudge match played out on the court at Benjamin Franklin High School Friday evening, the administration finally scored a win over Council in a tight match. Final score: Administration 33, Council 29. PhillyClout has been told that state Rep. Tony Payton suited up for the administration while a Water Department employee with some skills played for Council.
We have been advised of no hard fouls, ejections or hospitalizations. If only budget hearings were so peaceful.
