Wednesday's DN: New sheriff gets $50K in city lawsuit

State Rep. Jewell Williams, who will be sworn in as Philadelphia's next sheriff next month, wins $50,000 in a lawsuit against the city after claiming he was injured when police detained him and placed him in too-tight handcuffs.

Susan Finkelstein, the Philadelphia woman who was arrested for allegedly offering to trade sex for Phillies World Series tickets, had her attempted prostitution conviction overturned yesterday by the state Superior Court.

And testimony continues in the case of a woman accused of keeping people locked in a basement while she collected their government support checks.
