Cops searching for knife wielding robbery suspect

Cops are searching for a knife-wielding bandit who robbed an Enterprise Rent a Car in Germantown Monday.

Around 12:15 p.m., the man walked into the building on Chelten Avenue near Wayne Avenue asking about a rental car, police said.

The man walked out, then came back in minutes later armed with a knife. He ordered the employees to the floor and demanded money.

The man was given $43 in cash and ran from east on Chelten Avenue.

A surveillance camera inside the building recorded the incident and police posted the footage in hopes that help from the public will lead them to making an arrest.

The suspect is described as a dark-skinned black man in his 40s, who is between 5 feet 7 and 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighs about 180 pounds.

The man has a scruffy beard and was wearing a black jacket over a dark hooded sweat shirt, police said.
