A man was hospitalized after being stabbed during an attempted armed robbery at a Wawa in the Castor section of Northeast Philadelphia Friday afternoon, police said.

Four teenagers tried robbing the store on Tyson Street near Castor Avenue around 5:45 p.m., and stabbed a man in the stomach, police said.

It was not immediately clear if the victim is a store clerk, and police said the suspects did not take any money or merchandise from the store.

The man was taken to Aria Torresdale Hospital, fire officials said, however they were unsure of the victim's medical status as of 6:30 p.m.
