Police search for suspect in fatal Hunting Park shooting

A 27-year-old man was fatally shot this morning in Hunting Park, Officer Jillian Russell, a police spokeswoman, said.

Police responding to a report of a shooting on Pike Street near Park Avenue about 9:48 a.m. discovered the victim, who had been shot once in the head, Russell said. Medics pronounced him dead at the scene.

There is currently no information on a motive or suspect.

Anyone with information is asked to call 9-1-1.

The shooting brings this year's homicide total to 239, according to police statistics.
