Remote Possibilities: 'Undercover Boss,' 'Da Vinci's Demons'
A few things to watch (or feed your DVR).
Marques Chandler, a Philly Pretzel Factory worker who went from baker to franchise owner after impressing incognito CEO Dan DiZio is among the people whose inspiring stories are revisited Friday in "Undercover Boss: Epic Employees" (8 p.m., CBS 3).
Not everyone has a feel-good tale, however -- according to CBS, "disgraced employees [will] share the aftermath of getting fired."
And for something completely different, "Da Vinci's Demons" (9 p.m., Starz), now in its fifth week, tackles the issue of Leonardo's (Tom Riley) sexuality as da Vinci goes on trial in Florence for allegedly violating a seldom-enforced law against sodomy. For those who care about the historical aspects of this fanciful drama in which da Vinci's not just a genius, but pretty much a superhero, there was apparently an accusation in 1476, but charges were dropped. How Starz' da Vinci escapes punishment -- well, that's something that needs to be seen to be believed.
Though not everyone's going to want to see it, I suspect.
For those who like their drama with a little less skin, there's the season finale of "Blue Bloods" (10 p.m., CBS), where Frank Reagan (Tom Selleck) is lately looking more and more like the portrait of Teddy Roosevelt in his office and where the Reagans are about to experience yet another loss of someone close to them.
