JVR to join Team USA

A day after the Flyers were eliminated from the Stanley Cup playoffs, USA Hockey announced that Flyers forward James van Riemsdyk has been added to the roster of 2011 U.S. Men's National Team that is currently competing at the International Ice Hockey Federation World Men's Championship, in Kosice and Bratislava, Slovakia.

The U.S. next faces Switzerland on Monday at 10:15 a.m. Eastern in its final qualification-round game. The game will be broadcast live on Versus

JVR will be making his sixth U.S. national team appearance, having previously competed at three IIHF World Junior Championships (2009; 2008; 2007-bronze) and two IIHF World Men's U18 Championships (2007-silver; 2006-gold). Van Riemsdyk spent two seasons (2005-07) with USA Hockey's National Team Development Program.
