Lots to do between Christmas and New Year's in Philly
New Year's - It's not just a day . In Philly, it's a week, Mayor Nutter says.
In a news conference complete with confetti, the Nutcracker Rat King, and Mummers playing "Auld Lang Syne," Mayor Nutter on Thursday declared Dec. 26 through Jan. 2 "New Year's Week" in Philadelphia.
The designation is aimed at getting more people to dine and shop in the city. Events include New Year's Eve fireworks at 6 p.m. and midnight. For more information, go to www.vistiphilly.com or uwishunu.com.
