Happy Bob Day
Happy 70th birthday, Mr. Robert Zimmerman.
Happy 70th, Mr. Robert Zimmerman.
XPN's playing 70 Dylan songs in a row this jingle jangle morning.
Of all the ways to honor his Bobness, not sure this does the trick.
Better to catch Dylan and the Band at Boston Garden, 1974.
Or read Mr. DeLuca.
Still alive (perhaps.) An appreciation from Ken Tucker of the man who's cool and square.
If we're looking back, how about that 1966 interview in Playboy, which hired Nat Hentoff to sit down with the young Bob Dylan, who talks about how Philadelphia played a part in his going the rock and roll route:
... I lost my one true love. I started drinking. The first thing I know, I'm in a card game. Then I'm in a crap game. I wake up in a pool hall. Then this big Mexican lady drags me off the table, takes me to Philadelphia. She leaves me alone in her house, and it burns down. I wind up in Phoenix. I get a job as a Chinaman. I start working in a dime store, and move in with a 13-year-old girl. Then this big Mexican lady from Philadelphia comes in and burns the house down.
But don't read this, Bob, from The New Yorker.
