The MAC Card is back
JetPay has a deal with Visa
JetPay Card Services, the Berwyn payment-processing-firm holding company started by Bipin C. Shah, who ran the former MAC debit card network for the former CoreStates Bank, says it's introducing the Money Access Visa Prepaid Card, or MAC Card, as a reloadable payment card for JetPay's payroll-processing-company clients.
JetPay calls MAC "a general purpose reloadable prepaid card that behaves much like a checkless checking account." The card's MAC One variant is for people who don't have bank accounts; bosses will load their paycheck into it and workers will spend it directly. JetPay promotes MAC Choice for people with bank accounts as "a great tool for budgeting, helping to manage household expenses, saving for that special need, or occasional funding for students."
MAC Cards accept payments to customers through the GreenDot network. JetPay calls MAC "the lowest-priced general-purpose prepaid card of its kind."
"We have thoroughly tested MAC over the past few months with our employee, friends and family launch," said Ralph Bianco, JetPay's executive VP, in a statement. More at 1-800-DO-MY-PAY or www.jetpaycard.com
