PSK: What Does It Mean?

On Philadelphia original gangsta rapper Schoolly D.'s 1985 cryptically titled stone cold classic, "PSK: What Does It Mean?," the initials stood for Parkside Killers. Tonight at Club Voyeur in Center City, as part of the Roots' 4th of July Jam, however, the initials stand for Philadelphia Sound Konnoisseurs, the ad hoc aggregation of 215 connected big name DJs that includes Diplo, ?uestlove and Jazz Jeff, plus New York's DJ Spinna and California turntablist J-Rocc. It's one of three events going on at clubs around town on July 4 eve in advance of tomorrow's Roots headlined blowout on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway.
