The Duke And The King, Back At The Chapel
It's end of the year time, and I'm trying to decide whether to put The Duke & The King's Nothing Gold Can Stay on my top ten albums list, or to put the Simone Felice-led quartet's August show at the First Unitarian Church Chapel on my list of the best shows I've seen this year. Or both. The D & K - who take their name from Huckleberry Finn, cribbed their album title from Robert Frost and quote Ralph Waldo Emerson on their MySpace page, but aren't the slightest bit pretentious about any of it - are back at the Sanctuary tonight. Here's "The Morning I Get To Hell," from Jools Holland's TV show in England, where the upstate New York outfit has gotten the attention it deserves.
