Flyers legend Dave Schultz earned the title "Best Mustache in the History of Philadelphia Sports" in dominating fashion.
Men's grooming companies should be calling him any moment for potential endorsement deals.
It was a brilliant performance throughout the tournament by the Flyers brawler and it certainly deserves a closer look as Schultz eliminated three No. 1 seeds.
His closest matchup was in the Championship round. Schultz edged Major League Baseball's greatest third baseman and Phillies great Mike Schmidt by a hair with 69.9% of the vote.
Entering the tourney as the two seed in the Flyers region, Schultz waxed 14-seed Dan Carcillo with a whopping 91.7% of the vote.
In the second round, current Flyers captain and six-seeded Claude Giroux's ginger 'stache couldn't hold its own. Schultz earned 87% of the vote.
An epic battle awaited Schultz in the "Stylish Sixteen" as he stood nose to nose against the 15-seed and friend of philly.com Bernie Parent. Schultz easily sent Parent out of the tourney with 83.9% of the vote.
God may have been the only one to save more than Bernie, but voters claimed Schutlz could definitely shave better than Bernie.
The "Elegant Eight" is when Schultz encountered his first No. 1 seed in Mel Bridgman, but Schultz took Bridgman's mustache for a one-way ride to the showers with 77.8% of the vote.
Schultz had a hairy meeting with another top-seed in the "Facial Four" in Fluff, but he proved to be a whisker better with 80.6% of the vote.
