For sale: Chase Utley’s $3.4M Gladwyne home

Utley isn’t the only Philly athlete to own the home. Records show former 76er Allen Iverson bought the property in September 2000 for $2.4 million.

Almost a year after packing his bags for Los Angeles, former Phillies second baseman Chase Utley is selling his Gladwyne home.

The Los Angeles Times first reported that the more than 8,000-square-foot Colonial was on the market for $3.495 million.

According to Montgomery County property records, Utley bought the home in September 2013 for $2.325 million.

But Utley isn't the only Philly athlete to own the home. Property records show former 76er Allen Iverson bought the home in September 2000 for $2.4 million. Iverson sold it six years later for $2.85 million.

The completely renovated home has six bedrooms and eight total bathrooms. Per the listing, Utley and his wife created a "sleek open California-style layout," which includes a top-of-the-line kitchen, dining room with butler's pantry and living room with gas fireplace. The home also boasts a game room, exercise room, wine cellar/tasting room and a brand new Hamptons-style saltwater swimming pool with pool pavilion.

Utley still owns property in the city. In 2008, when the Phillies were riding high, he and his wife spent $4.19 million for a three-level penthouse in the Ayer near Washington Square. When they bought the Gladwyne manse, they rented out the 4,500-square-foot city pad.
