Eagles running back LeSean McCoy eliminated from Madden cover vote
There won’t be any Eagles on the cover of Madden NFL 15 this year.
There won't be any Eagles on the cover of Madden NFL 15 this year. That news comes after Eagles running back LeSean McCoy fell to Colts quarterback Andrew Luck in the quarterfinals of the cover vote tournament.
Luck beat out McCoy by garnering 54 percent of the vote, as McCoy gained only 46 percent. Luck moves on to compete against Panthers quarterback Cam Newton in one semifinal. The other semi will be between 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick and the only non-quarterback left, Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman.
Eagles quarterback Nick Foles was ousted in the first round of the voting by Kaepernick.
The last time an Eagle graced the cover of Madden was back in 2005 for Madden NFL 06. That distinction went to then quarterback Donovan McNabb.
McNabb went on to have a below average 2005 season with 2,507 yards, 16 touchdowns, nine interceptions and completed only 59.1 percent of his passes in only nine games under center. Even worse, the team finished 6-10 a season after going to the Super Bowl.
With all of that said, it may be best that McCoy didn't land on the cover anyway.
