Flyers' Zepp to make NHL debut tonight

WINNIPEG, Manitoba - For Rob Zepp, the long wait is over.

Zepp, 33, will make his NHL debut Sunday night, when the Flyers play in Winnipeg.

After 14 professional seasons, including seven in Germany and stops in the OHL, ECHL and AHL, Zepp will get a chance to show his stuff.

Zepp, recalled from the Phantoms Saturday, said his strong play for the Flyers in this year’s preseason gives him confidence as he prepares for his first NHL appearance. In three preseason games, Zepp was 1-1 (one no-decision) with a 2.02 goals-against average and a .947 save percentage.

"I always believed in myself and believed I could do it and felt I just needed an opportunity," said Zepp, who signed a two-way contract with the Flyers in July.
