Lindros, LeClair to be inducted into Flyers' Hall of Fame

Eric Lindros and John LeClair, two-thirds of the Flyers' famed Legion of Doom line, will enter the franchise's Hall of Fame before Thursday's game against Minnesota at the Wells Fargo Center.

"Eric has been such a big part of my career, and to have him standing right there next to me will be quite immense," LeClair, who lives in Haverford, said in a joint conference call with Lindros and reporters Monday.

"Philadelphia is where I played my best hockey," said Lindros, whose long feud with the organization ended a few years ago. "The fans in Philadelphia are extremely passionate. . . . They get it."

Lindros, 41, played with the Flyers from 1993 to 2000 and ranks fifth on their all-time scoring list with 659 points in 456 games. The NHL MVP in the lockout-shortened 1994-95 season, Lindros' career was cut short by concussions.

Still, he may land in hockey's Hall of Fame some day.

"That's up the voting group and there's not really much I control in that environment," Lindros said.

During his most dominating decade, only Mario Lemieux (1.99) and Jaromir Jagr (1.42) averaged more points per game than Lindros (1.31), according to TSN.

LeClair, 45, is fifth in franchise history with 333 goals from 1995 to 2004. Only Bill Barber (420), Brian Propp (369), Tim Kerr (363), and Bobby Clarke (358) scored more goals with the Flyers.

Lindros and LeClair both said linemate Mikael Renberg was just as important as either of them. Renberg, a hockey broadcaster in Sweden, will attend Thursday's ceremony.

Eric Dejardins, one of the best defensemen in franchise history, will be inducted into the Flyers' Hall of Fame before the Feb. 19 game against visiting Buffalo.
