Phillies set 2015 opening day roster

The Phillies on Sunday afternoon set their 25-man roster ahead of Monday's opening day.

The Phillies on Sunday afternoon set their 25-man roster ahead of Monday's opening day against the Red Sox at Citizens Bank Park. They purchased the contracts of non-roster spring training invitees Jeff Francoeur and Andres Blanco and optioned Jordan Danks to triple-A Lehigh Valley.

Keep in mind the Phillies don't need a fifth starter until April 12.

The Phillies also officially placed lefthanded reliever Mario Hollands (elbow strain) on the 60-day disabled list and righthanders Chad Billingsley and Jonathan Pettibone on the 15-day disabled list. Billingsley is working his way back from consecutive seasons lost to elbow operations and Pettibone is coming back form June shoulder surgery.

The team now has a full 40-man roster.
