'Best' & 'Worst' awards: 76ers vs. Heat

MIAMI – My look at some of the best and worst performances from the 76ers' 100-87 victory over the Miami Heat on Wednesday night at AmericanAirlines Arena:

Best performance:  Thaddeus Young was the winner of this award. But it wasn't like he received a lot of competition. Miami rested starters LeBron James,  Chris Bosh and Mario Chalmers and reserve Chris Andersen. Meanwhile, the Heat players, who played, were on cruise control. Nonetheless, Young made 9 of 17 shots to finish with a game-high 20 points. He also had nine rebounds, two assists and two steals.

Worst performance: I hate to do this to Adonis Thomas, who made his first career start.  He made 1 of 2 shots to score three points and an assist in 5 minutes, 20 seconds before exiting with exiting with a dislocated right pinky finger. But Thomas gets the award due to suffering from a severe case of the hacks.  The rookie swingman, who was signed to 10-day contract, picked up three fouls in the first 3:04 of the game.

Best defensive performance:  Tony Wroten gets this one.  The Sixers reserve point guard finished with a game high five steals.  That was one of his highlights in what was hot-and-cold season-ending performance. Wroten also had four points, six assists and six turnovers.

Best performance by a Heat: This goes to Udonis Haslem. The power forward/center made 3 of 4 shots to finish with seven points. He also had a game-high 10  rebounds in 17 minutes of action.

Worst statistic: This award goes to Miami's turnovers. The Heat turned the ball over 22 times.

Best statistic: This goes to the Shane Battier's three-point shooting. The Heat forward made 3 of 4 shots from beyond the arc.
