Noel out against Raptors

76ers reserve center Nerlens Noel will not play in Wednesday night's game against the Toronto Raptors because of a sprained left ankle. Center Joel Embiid and point guard Sergio Rodriguez will play.

Embiid missed Sunday's victory against the Detroit Pistons because of right elbow inflammation. Rodriguez was sidelined with gastroenteritis. Noel made his first appearance of the season against the Pistons but sat out the second half after the ankle injury.

Noel did not participate in Wednesday's shootaround. The Sixers list him as day-to-day. However, Noel expects to play on Friday against the Los Angeles Lakers.

Also on Wednesday, the team recalled Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot from the Delaware 87ers, their NBA Development League team.
