One last look at Eagles vs. Giants

A lot of stuff happened over the weeked, all of it humiliating for those involved. The difference between a normal person humiliating themselves and the New York Daily News humiliating themselves is that the Daily News doesn't realize or care that it has done so.
Like mayflies, they exist simply to exert themselves, then die, and it's time for the next generation. Instead of larvae, the Daily News produces the next day's issue. Shockingly, not much potency lies in a medium with the sole purpose of selling itself.
97.5's Mike Missanelli made sure Philadelphia looked awful by tweeting a celebratory comment on Victor Cruz's season-ending injury, then rescinded it, claiming he hadn't actually been watching the game (first because he'd left to walk to his car, then because he was headed for the subway. Like all 100 percent truths, this one was full of holes).
Plenty more vitriol was slung, but in the end, what this week did more than anything was bring Eagles and Giants fans together to lambaste their hometown media entities, who were more guilty than anyone of perpetuating the stereotypes they so desperately need for headlines.
So buck up, friends. We're all just fans and they're all just sports. Turn that Manning-face
