AJ Styles to return to Ring of Honor Jan. 4

AJ Styles will make his first appearance in Ring of Honor in eight years Jan. 4 at the Nashville Fairgrounds in Nashville, Tenn., the promotion announced Saturday.

Styles was with ROH when it first started in 2002 and was one of the wrestlers that helped the promotion make a name for itself.

In his first match with the promotion in nearly a decade, Styles is scheduled to face Roderick Strong in a match that will air on ROH television.

"I'm excited to return to ROH and the Nashville Fairgrounds," Styles said via a press release from ROH. "Lots of history made that I was part of in both. Expect more on Jan. 4. Hope Nashville fans fill that asylum."

The Jan. 4 show will also feature a match between Chris Hero and Kevin Steen and an appearance from WWE Hall of Famer Roddy Piper, who will take part in a meet and greet.
