TNA Impact Wrestling report (08/19/15): Turning Point

As I have mentioned many times before, TNA Wrestling's strength is the in-ring action and it's biggest weakness is the lack of compelling stories on a week-to-week basis.

The Turning Point edition of Impact Wrestling was a prime example of both.

There was a lot of good wrestling on Impact this week. I thought Mr. Anderson and Bram put on an entertaining yet overbooked opening match.

Although the outcome of one person beating two others in a steel cage doesn't make a whole bunch of sense, but for what it was, Gail Kim versus Marti Bell and Jade was a good match.

I enjoyed the Drew Galloway versus Eli Drake bout and thought it had a great finish, and the best match on the show, in my opinion, was the TNA World title match between Ethan Carter III and Global Force Wrestling's P.J. Black.

With all of that said, the stories just fall flat in almost every segment. The entire show just lacks juice, momentum and excitement. When there isn't a match going, it becomes really hard not to change the channel, as the promo or backstage segment usually leaves you bored and uninterested.

The segment with Khoya wanting to have more personality just came off as bizarre, not entertaining.

Also bizarre was Eric Young challenging Chris Melendez to a match with Melendez's leg on the line.

Then you have Jeff Jarrett gaining more and more power of a promotion that's not even his anymore, according to the story and real life. It doesn't paint TNA president Dixie Carter in the best of lights.

With that said, here are the full match results:

- Mr. Anderson def. Bram

- Six Sides of Steel - Gail Kim def. Marti Bell & Jade

- No disqualifications – Drew Galloway def. Eli Drake

- Matt Hardy def. Tyrus

- TNA World Heavyweight championship – Ethan Carter III def. P.J. Black
