For the first time since 2009, the CONCACAF Gold Cup is coming back to Philadelphia.
For the first time since 2009, the CONCACAF Gold Cup is coming back to Philadelphia - and it's coming back in a big way.
Lincoln Financial Field hosts the championship game of the 2015 edition of North and Central America's biennial championship for national teams. PPL Park hosts the third-place game.
The tournament runs from July 7-26. It kicks off two days after the Women's World Cup championship game in Vancouver. So there is national team action through almost all of June and July, to go along with the usual full slate of Major League Soccer games.
As usual, there are 12 teams in the field, divided into three groups of four teams each. The top two teams in each group and the two best third-place teams advance to the quarterfinals.
Here is the group stage draw:
Group A: Haiti, Honduras, Panama, United States
Group B: Canada, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Jamaica
Group C: Cuba, Guatemala, Mexico, Trinidad & Tobago
