Do Halloween the Sesame Place way at the park’s Spooktacular
Halloween is fast approaching and from Saturday, Sept. 20 through Sunday, Oct. 26, Sesame Place (100 Sesame Rd., Langhorne) is getting into the spirit with kid-friendly attractions.
We were all kids once. And what kid didn't like dressing up in over-the-top costumes, filling up pillowcases with candy?
Halloween is fast approaching and from Saturday, Sept. 20 through Sunday, Oct. 26, Sesame Place (100 Sesame Rd., Langhorne) is getting into the spirit with kid-friendly attractions.
The Count's Halloween Spooktacular features everything from live performances to character hayrides to costume contests. Here's what you won't want to miss.
This Halloween season sees two new performances. "Elmo the Musical — Live at Sesame Place Halloween Show" features music and magic as Elmo tries to save a magic show. The show runs every day of the promotion at 11:30 a.m., 12:30 p.m., 2 p.m., 3 p.m. and 5:30 p.m.
For a bit of mystery, check out "Who Said Boo?!" where Elmo, Abby, Zoe, Telly and Cookie Monster hear a mysterious "Boo!" and must determine the origin of the exclamation. There are four performance times during Spooktacular: 11:30 a.m., 12:30 p.m., 1:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m.
The festivities officially kick off on Saturday, Sept. 20 and Sunday, Sept. 21 at two character meet-and-greet mealtimes. At noon and 5 p.m. both days, kids can wear costumes and eat, sing, dance and take pictures with Sesame Street favorites.
The following weekend, it's a monster mash birthday party. At noon and 5 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 27 and Sunday, Sept. 28, families will sing and dance and enjoy an all-you-can-eat buffet.
Count with The Count at his birthday party on Saturday, Oct. 4 and Sunday, Oct. 5. Other Sesame characters will be at the party, held at both noon and 5 p.m. both days for dancing, counting and food.
Rock those costumes a few weeks early on Saturday, Oct. 11 and Sunday, Oct. 12 when Grover celebrates his birthday at two daily celebration times: noon and 5 p.m.
The festivities culminate on Saturday, Oct. 25 and Sunday, Oct. 26 with The Count's ultimate Halloween bash. Sesame Street friends will help costumed youngsters get ready for the holiday with songs, food and activities at noon and 5 p.m. both days.
On Sunday, make sure the costumes are on-point as Sesame Place's costume contest is set to begin at 1 p.m. with opportunities for both kids and families to wow the crowds with their festive garb. Registration opens at 10 a.m. at the park's front gate plaza.
Following the contests, a park-wide costume parade will march through Sesame Place beginning at 4 p.m.
Other holiday-themed attractions include Abby Cadabby's Magical Halloween Maze, Not-So-Spooky Hayride, Rubber Ducky Dance Party, and The Count's Un-Haunted Castle Maze.
Sesame Place is open every Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Friday, Sept. 26 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
