#PhillyFive Things to Do: Dec. 3, 2014
Take it easy and hit the town.
Take it easy and hit the town.
For an almost cliché: At this point in popular culture, Ugly Sweater Parties are almost expected, right? The Philadelphia Museum of Art (2600 Benjamin Franklin Parkway) welcomes guests clad in awfully-designed sweaters for an evening of carols, treats and a knitting circle starting at 5:30 p.m. Oh yeah, and it's pay-what-you-wish night, too.
For boozy crafts: Bring your adult beverages to New Leaf Tea Room (606 Main St., Riverton, N.J.) and make a wreath at this 7 p.m. class. Just come with your bottle — snacks and supplies will be provided.
For laughs: Having made the TV rounds with appearances on Guy Code, @Midnight, We Love the 2000s and Jimmy Fallon (to name a few), Dan St. Germain brings his standup routine to Underground Arts (1200 Callowhill St.) for an 8 p.m. show.
For a jazzy holiday: The Jazz Orchestra of Philadelphia presents their seasonal performance featuring the "Harlem Nutcracker" at 8 p.m. at the Perelman Theater (Broad and Spruce Streets).
For Brit-pop: Lusty, dance-y and at times dark, the infectious and vibey the 1975 come to play the Tower Theatre (19 S. 69th St., Upper Darby, Pa.) at 8 p.m. tonight. Young Rising Sons and local guys CRUISR open.
