#PhillyFive Things to Do: Feb. 19, 2015

Lots of partying today.

Lots of partying today.

For a benefit: It'll be hard to believe you won't be in Cuba during Hotel Palomar's (117 S. 17th St.) Glamsino Royale, where the 24th and 25th floors will be decked out with Cuban décor and casino tables. Play for great prizes, eat Cuban fare and get down to party music from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Even better is proceeds will benefit ActionAIDS.

For a community gathering: The Da Vinci Art Alliance (704 Catherine St.) opens their doors from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. for the public to chat art and graphic design with Allan Espiritu from GDLOFT PHL, a Northern Liberties-based design studio.

For a spinoff: Blair Waldorf turned into a pop star. Leighton Meester, famous for playing the Upper East Side socialite in the CW's "Gossip Girl" made her musical debut in Cobra Starship's "Good Girls Go Bad" in 2009. She tours behind her debut record Heartstrings and stops at the Trocadero Theatre (1003 Arch St.) for a 7:30 p.m. show.

For young professionals: Hit the open bar and take a tour of Yards Brewing Company (901 N. Delaware Ave.) from 7:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. for the Covenant House Young Professional's first-ever Cocktail Countdown, a countdown to the organization's Sleep Out fundraiser.

For local artists: A live showcase of local performers (and some not so local), curated by Making Time, hits Underground Arts (1200 Callowhill St.) at 8 p.m. tonight. Featuring sets from Peaking Lights, Vita and the Woolf, I IM Eye My and hosted by Gun$ Garcia, the event is part of Red Bull Sound Selects series.
