Michael E. Scullin

was elected vice president of the

Consular Corps Association of Philadelphia

, the oldest consular corps in the United States, with career and honorary consuls representing their countries in the region. Scullin, the honorary consul of France in Philadelphia and Wilmington, is counsel at McElroy, Deutsch, Mulvaney & Carpenter L.L.P., Philadelphia.

Catholic Health East, Newtown Square, appointed Avril Chin-Fatt, Mary Catherine Karl, and Barbara M. Wheeley to its board for three-year terms. Chin-Fatt is congregational minister for the Franciscan Sisters of Allegany. Karl was chief financial officer at Times Publishing Co. Wheeley is the past president of the former Sisters of Mercy, Regional Community of Baltimore.

The Baldwin School, an independent college preparatory school for girls in Bryn Mawr, recently elected five new members to its board of trustees:

EducationWorks, a Philadelphia, Chester, and Trenton education nonprofit, elected Christopher C. Henderson to its board. He is a retail risk officer at the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia.

The Philadelphia Award board of trustees, which gives an annual award to a Philadelphian who has contributed to the greater good of the city, named the following new members:

George Ross is a senior director at Goldman Sachs.

Bernard Anderson is a former Whitney M. Young Jr. Professor of Management at the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School.

M. Teresa Sarmina is a judge in Philadelphia's Court of Common Pleas.

Enid Curtis Bok Okun is granddaughter of Edward W. Bok, founder of the Philadelphia Award.

The Friends of Independence National Historical Park, a nonprofit organization that works to support the park, named Karen D. Kaufman and Antoinette R. Stone to its board. Kaufman is executive coach for the Kaufman Partnership Ltd. Stone is of Brown Stone Nimeroff L.L.C.

The Free Library of Philadelphia Foundation appointed the following to its board:

George Day is the Geoffrey T. Boisi Professor of Marketing at the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School of Business and the codirector of Wharton's Mack Center for Technological Innovation.

Elizabeth Grenald is the former owner of the Chapter and Verse bookstore.

Patrick Michael Oates is the director of business development for Cherokee Analytical Laboratory Services.

The Treasury Department of Pennsylvania appointed Jeffrey S. Batoff, a partner in the firm of Obermayer Rebmann Maxwell & Hippel, to the advisory board of the Tuition Account Program. Batoff was appointed by the speaker of the House, Keith R. McCall. Batoff is vice chairman of Obermayer's Litigation Department, chairman of its Intellectual Property Litigation Group, and a member of its governing body, the Management Committee.
