Philadelphia Hospitality Inc., a nonprofit that promotes the region as a world-class business and leisure destination, named John J. Kroll chairman of the board. He is president of Keating Hospitality, a division of Keating Partners.

Darrin McLaughlin has been appointed co-chair of the Association of Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialists' Greater Philadelphia Chapter. He is managing director, strategic client solutions, at Regulatory DataCorp Inc., a King of Prussia provider of risk intelligence.

Boys & Girls Clubs of Philadelphia elected the following to its board of governors: Chris Papariello, executive vice president at Majestic Wine & Spirits; Jason Thacker, senior vice president/senior retail officer, Pennsylvania market, at TD Bank, and Joe Jordan, director of player development for the Philadelphia Phillies.

Delaware Valley College, Doylestown, named Majid Alsayegh to its board of trustees. He is principal and senior consultant at Alta Management L.L.C.

People's Emergency Center, a social-services agency in West Philadelphia, elected Bernadine Hawes chair. She is marketing research analyst at Community Marketing Concepts Inc. in Philadelphia.

Francis Vargas, vice president at Elon Group, the Altman Group/Allied Construction, Fort Washington, is vice chair.    Branton Henderson, senior vice president, senior client manager commercial real estate banking at Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Philadelphia, is treasurer.

The following have been named to the board: Elayne Howard, president and founder of Elayne Howard & Associates Inc., St. Davids; John Roberts, senior manager at Deloitte Financial Advisory Services L.L.P., Philadelphia; Ellen Brotman, partner at Montgomery, McCracken, Walker & Rhoads, Philadelphia, and Arthur Momjian, a partner at Duane Morris L.L.P., Philadelphia.

The Montessori School in Dresher named Sean Cook chair. He is a CPA and managing partner at Harvest Advisers. Other officers include Bill Kasenchar, IT director of strategic initiatives at the University of Pennsylvania, treasurer; Elizabeth Sawyer, president of Bennett School Placement Worldwide, vice chair, and Traci Opdahl, owner of Amazing Healthful Foods, secretary.

Stephen M. Orlofsky has been reappointed to the board of trustees of the New Jersey Lawyers Assistance Program, a group that provides free and confidential assistance to attorneys, members of the judiciary, law students, and law graduates with alcohol, drug, gambling, emotional, behavioral, and other personal problems. He leads the appellate practice at Blank Rome L.L.P. and is the administrative partner of the firm's Princeton office.

Elwyn, a nonprofit human-services organization, named Tina Hwang and Joseph E. Lundy to its board. Hwang is co-head of sales, managing director and senior vice president of PNC Capital Markets, Philadelphia. Lundy is partner of Lundy Fleming L.L.P.

David M. Maser was confirmed by the state Senate to serve on the board of governors of the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education. He is of counsel at Chimicles & Tikellis of Haverford.

John J. O'Malley was appointed to the board of Women Organized Against Rape, a group founded in 1971 to eliminate all forms of sexual violence through specialized treatment services, comprehensive prevention education programs, and advocacy for the rights of victims of sexual assault. He is a shareholder at Volpe and Koenig P.C., an intellectual-property law firm with offices in Philadelphia and Princeton.

Joann Needleman, vice president and managing attorney of the Philadelphia office of Maurice & Needleman P.C., was named president of the National Association of Retail Collection Attorneys.

The Anti-Violence Partnership of Philadelphia, a nonprofit traumatic-grief counseling agency for the families of city homicide victims, has elected the following board members: Maria Hergan, associate claims consultant at Conner Strong & Buckelew; Peter Hickok, clinical program director at Wordsworth Academy; Rachel Kraushaar, assistant director of annual giving and special events at Harcum College; James Madden, senior vice president and director of client services at Hillview Capital Advisors L.L.C.; Ben Salehi, associate attorney at Spector Gadon & Rosen P.C.; T.R.
