Pa. to pay U.S. $48.8 million in Medicaid case
Pennsylvania will pay $48.8 million to the federal government to settle claims that between 2004 and 2010 the state provided Medicaid, food stamps, and other benefits to aliens who did not meet the requirements for the program, the U.S. Department of Justice said.

Under the settlement, the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services is required to make quarterly payments of $2.44 million over the next five years, with the first payment March 31.
