Josephine Lusi and her husband first fell in love with the Camilla model in South Philadelphia's Siena Place townhome community because it was different from the rest of the neighborhood.

"It felt so airy and so different than most row homes in South Philadelphia," she said.

Eventually, she and her husband bought a three-bedroom, three-bath Elena model in the same development. She said they were sold by the open floorplan as much as the parking.

"Coming from a row home in Philadelphia, this was a breath of fresh air," she said.

After closing in May 2013, the couple completed a series of remodeling upgrades including installing hardwood floors, new cabinetry and backsplash in the kitchen and a new master bath.

"My favorite part of my home is my kitchen," Lusi said. "Everyone always seems to just migrate towards the kitchen and I love all the upgraded details we put into it."

The renovated kitchen includes granite countertops, self-closing cabinets and access to the deck off the back of the home.

The property backs up to a community green space that Siena Place calls "the square," which the Lusi family overlooks from their deck.

"It is like having your own private park," Lusi said. "We can watch the kids play outside, and the wintertime is the prettiest when we have snow."

The family has made strong ties in the community in the nearly four years they've lived there.

"We really did build life-long friends," she said. "We have developed a really close-knit, family feeling."

Lusi said they have decided that it's time to move in order to shorten her commute to work.

"The commute is hard with the kids and it's better to move now while they are young," she said.

They expect to still spend plenty of time in Siena Place, though, because Lusi's sister and her family have recently moved into the community.

"What makes me happy is knowing that since we do have family here, we will be here often," Lusi said. "We will be around a lot."

The home is listed by Keller Williams' Mike Rosania for $499,900.
