Unisys CEO Peter Altabef also named chairman

Unisys president and CEO Peter Altabef on Tuesday was elected to the position of chairman by the board of directors of Unisys. He continues as president and CEO as well.

Nathaniel Davis was also named independent lead director. Both appointments are effective April 26, 2018.

Paul Weaver, the current chairman of the Unisys board, will retire April 26, 2018, after reaching the mandatory board retirement age of 72. Weaver has served as a director since 2010, and as board chairman since 2015.

Altabef, 58, joined Unisys in 2015 as president and CEO. Prior to joining Unisys, Altabef served as president and CEO of MICROS Systems until its acquisition by Oracle. He served as president and CEO of Perot Systems until its acquisition by Dell Inc., and following that served as president of Dell Services, the information technology services and business process solutions unit of Dell.

Davis, 63, joined the Board in 2011 and currently serves as the chair of the nominating and corporate governance committee. Davis's current role is as chairman of the board of K12 and held prior board positions at XM Satellite, XO Communications, and Charter Communications. Unisys marked the 30-year anniversary of its founding in 2016.
