Thomas Snyder, World Sudoku champion

Thomas Snyder won the 2007 World Sudoku Championship as well as the 2006 U.S. Puzzle Championship. He was also a member of the world champion U.S. Puzzle Team in 2006 at the World Puzzle Championship, finishing fourth place individually.

Thomas Snyder won the 2007 World Sudoku Championship as well as the 2006 U.S. Puzzle Championship. He was also a member of the world champion U.S. Puzzle Team in 2006 at the World Puzzle Championship, finishing fourth place individually.

In addition to being a competitive puzzle solver, Snyder is a freelance puzzle constructor; his first book of puzzles, Battleship Sudoku, will be released by Sterling Publishing within the next year, and many of his original creations including variations on sudoku can be found on his blog

Thomas was born and raised in Buffalo, NY. He earned his bachelor of science degree in chemistry and economics at the California Institute of Technology. He is currently finishing up his doctoral studies in chemistry at Harvard University. He aims to be a professor of chemistry and develop new technologies for the diagnosis and treatment of human disease.
