Colonial-style picnic

Families can celebrate the holiday weekend colonial-style, at Colonial Plantation Pennsylvania's Fourth of July Celebration and Picnic.

From 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, visitors can celebrate our nation's birthday with a picnic at the farm, while listening to a reading of the Declaration of Independence. Since Chester County is not in total agreement with the declaration, the Patriots will try to win the crowd's support by holding demonstrations against the king. Families can bring their picnic lunch, chairs, and blankets to witness the colonial-style celebration. Refreshments will be available for purchase. Other activities include talks on gardens and animals and hearth-cooking demonstrations.
