Jewelry-making

Visitors can learn how to make jewelry during Bead Fest 2011, the East Coast's largest bead and jewelry event, organizers say. The fest offers 165 classes and 300 exhibits. A three-day pass is offered for $16, two-day for $14, and one-day for $12. The event, including the effort to create the longest beaded necklace, will be at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center at Oaks, 100 Station Ave. It is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. Ukrainian festival

The 20th annual Ukrainian Folk Festival will celebrate folk art, music, and dance with a series of activities. There will be a festival stage show, public dance, a barbecue pit, and "Kolomiyka" (polka). Tickets are $15, $10 for students, and free for children 15 and younger. Family fun

A slew of free activities for the family are part of the Second Annual Horizon Services' Riverfront FamilyFest in Delaware this weekend. For children, the event features a jumbo moon bounce, soccer, and T-ball. The "Amazing Riverfront Wilmington Race" is scheduled at noon, when families can compete for a grand prize. Nonperishable food and cash donations will be collected for the Food Bank of Delaware, with a chance to win an iPod Touch. Fashion for art

A Yet to Be Named Fashion Show is planned from 6 to 11 p.m. Friday at L'etage and at Pageant Gallery next door, in Queen Village at Sixth and Bainbridge Streets. It's a benefit for the Philadelphia School District's struggling arts programs, and local artists and designers will sell their art, photography, crafts, and clothes. Organizers promise that 40 percent of proceeds will go to the art-in-schools program.
