SEPTA does away with sex
PLAYING BEFORE "I Stand Corrected" is the short film "Transpass," about SEPTA. While a documentary about our public transportation system does not seem to have a place in an LGBT film festival, "Transpass" explores how our not-so-beloved transportation system is the only one in the country that required a sticker identifying the gender of the rider on its weekly and monthly passes. The doc looks at how these stickers affected transgender riders and the efforts of Riders Against Gender Exclusion, which worked to change SEPTA's policies. They succeeded. In April, SEPTA agreed to do away with the gender ID sticker.
