Children now have their own special space at Philadelphia Zoo's new year-round KidZooU: the Hamilton Family Children's Zoo and Faris Family Education Center.

Children will learn about insects, fish, animals, and more from the 2.5-acre facility's indoor and outdoor exhibits near the zoo's entrance. At the indoor exhibits, families can see butterflies in a tropical-like habitat, learn about fish, and how to play interactive games that teach about saving electricity. Kids will be mesmerized watching ant colonies fetch and store their food in a tunnel system, and more. At the outdoor exhibits, learn a thing or two about goats' climbing skills at the Goat Bridge and Tower, where children can climb ramps. Outdoor exhibits include a duck pond, chicken coops, rare breeds of goats, a lamb nursery, and more.

24th annual NarbEarth Day

On Saturday from noon to 4 p.m., the Narberth Civic Association will hold its 24th annual NarbEarth Day, a free family environmental fair and celebration of the Earth. The outdoor event will take place at Narberth Park.

The day will feature more than 30 exhibitors, including Fifth Grade Girl Scout Juniors (Troop 7010), Children's Earth Day Garden, energy providers, the EPA, and more. Children can have fun participating in hands-on and interactive activities, such as a scavenger hunt; flower-garden seed planting courtesy of the Narberth Garden club (kids can take their plant home); recycled material craft projects; and live domestic and wild-animal displays. There will be raffles, prizes, and gift certificates from local businesses and music performance by Nicolai Fox and Zach Fay.
