Sideshow: Joan Lunden fighting cancer

Joan Lunden, who hosted ABC's Good Morning America from 1980 to 1997, went on the show Tuesday to say she is fighting breast cancer. This misfortune haunts the show: Cohost Robin Roberts has been treated for it, and so has cohost Amy Robach. Lunden said she had already started chemo and expects to make a full recovery.

Monty Python Flying Circus genius John Cleese is out of the James Bond movie series. He played Q's assistant in The World Is Not Enough (1999) and Q himself in Die Another Day (2002). He tells RadioTimes.com, rightly, that the flicks have gotten too humorless, trying to copy the gritty Bourne franchise. Not clear whether he was fired or quit.

On Wednesday, "SideShow" favorite Rosanne Cash, just as her daddy Johnny Cash did in 1997, will go before the House Judiciary Committee. Congress is trying to work out intellectual property in this Internet age, and Cash will testify on behalf of the Americana Music Association. These things are huge for anyone who makes music for a living. So far, no one's figured it out. So daughter will follow in father's footsteps.

Singer Ed Sheeran calls gf Taylor Swift "a sort of middle-aged woman trapped in a 24-year-old's body." Hmm. Lotsa ways we could go with that. E-Sheer also reports "she hangs out with her cat and sews things." Scintillating.

Full-figured model Anansa Sims, 35, said on Twitter Monday she'd had her third child with former NFL guy and husband David Patterson.  . . . Noah Wyle (Falling Skies) told the loquacious ladies of The View Tuesday that he sneak-married actress Sara Wells at their Santa Barbara ranch, and then they honeymooned in Paris. We're trying to feel sorry for them, but can't. . . . Eliza Dushku (Dollhouse) and former NBA honeybunch Rick Fox have, after more than five years together, become apart.
