Dan Gross: DeMentri huddles with NBC 10 management

NBC 10's Vince DeMentri was at the station for the first time in nearly a month on Tuesday for a meeting with station management. DeMentri has been off air since July 3, when the station began to investigate an incident in its Bala Cynwyd parking lot in which DeMentri is alleged to have vandalized morning anchor Lori Delgado's car. Lower Merion police have an incident report of Delgado's car being vandalized but say the case is closed, and they don't expect any arrests.

Sources say DeMentri told colleagues Tuesday that he didn't touch Delgado's car. In the past, DeMentri and Delgado had a particularly close friendship. Delgado is married. In May 2007 we reported that DeMentri was in the process of a divorce from QVC-host wife Pat James DeMentri.

NBC 10 spokeswoman Eva Blackwell said the station does not comment on personnel matters. DeMentri's attorney, Paul Rosen, did not return our e-mail or a phone call yesterday.

Howard confused on tour dates

Just a week ago, Terrence Howard told us he would be playing somewhere in Philly in October during his tour to promote "Shine Through It," his new album, out Sept. 2. Maybe he was unaware that he'd been booked to play Aug. 23 in a reserved-seating-show at the TLA (334 South).

Bonner not behind Mendte shirts

Joe Mattson, president of the Monsignor Bonner High School Alumni Association, said yesterday that the "Free Larry Mendte" T-shirts an alum has printed are not authorized by his alumni group. Yesterday we reported that shirts supporting the federally charged former CBS 3 anchor, who graduated from Bonner in 1974, were printed and would be distributed at the school's Saturday party at LaCosta (4000 Landis) in Sea Isle City. We mistakenly identified the T-shirt maker yesterday as a board member of the MBHSAA. Mattson says Joe "Bags" Sweeney was not authorized to speak on behalf of the school group. Mattson says anyone wearing the shirt at Saturday's event will be asked to leave.
