Dan Gross: He likes the girl, not the show

ANDORRA/CHESTNUT HILL- raised Gregory Michael is dating Stephanie Pratt of MTV's "The Hills," though he hates reality TV. "I'm not a big reality-show person," Michael says of Pratt, who was in Atlantic City Saturday hosting a party at Dusk inside Caesars. "I don't watch it and I don't endorse it. Who she is has nothing to do with what she does."

The pair, who are dating but "aren't at the girlfriend/boyfriend stage yet," met around Thanksgiving while doing charity work in Los Angeles. "I had no idea who she was when I first met her," says Michael, who has yet to meet Pratt's brother Spencer or his wife, Heidi Montag. The actor, born Gregory Michael Hosmer, says his two years at Penn State were "way more wild" than the college life on "Greek." He attended Norwood- Fontbonne Academy for elementary school and La Salle College High, graduating in 1999.

"One of my biggest dreams is to work in Philadelphia, either shoot a movie or series in Philly," Michael says. He recently worked with Fred Savage, who directed an episode of "Greek" and told Savage how much he'd love to work on "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia," which Savage directs.

Michael is in town often and says he flies in sometimes just for cheesesteaks from Dallesandro's (Henry & Wendover). He says performing at the Walnut Street Theatre, in shows such as the "Music Man" and "Blood Brothers," "helped more than anything else" hone his skills.

Joan Jett is everywhere, it seems

Joan Jett is being celebrated not only in the new "The Runaways" movie in which the Lankenau Hospital-born rocker is played by Kristen Stewart of "Twilight" fame, but also in a new book, "Joan Jett," by designer Todd Oldham. Oldham interviewed Jett and used quotes from past interviews to write in her voice. He also designed the photo-heavy book with candid images of her as a child, with the Runaways and as part of Joan Jett & the Blackhearts, who just released a greatest-hits CD. Jett's Philly memories are limited, she tells Oldham, " 'Cause we moved quickly to Pittsburgh."
