Rebekah "Bex" Maroun, host at Entercom's 96.5 TDY is leaving Philly for Boston, where she will work as executive producer and co-host on WXKS Kiss 108's Matty in the Morning, the station announced this week.
Maroun will join the iHeartMedia Boston-owned station starting Oct. 1, host Matt Siegel announced via the Kiss 108 website. She replaces former Matty in the Morning on-air personality Medha Gandhi, who left Kiss 108 earlier this month for the Elvis Duran & The Morning Show, a syndicated program that airs locally at 6 a.m. on fellow iHeartMedia station Q102.
Bex will also work as a producer on The Weekend Throwdown with Jagger, a syndicated iHeartMedia program that does not air locally, Media Confidential reports.
"Thanks to my Philly family for the amazing run as well as iHeartMedia Boston for the incredible opportunity," Bex said via a statement. "I'm thrilled to return to iHeartMedia and ready to call Boston my home."
Bex joins Kiss 108 following a stint at 96.5 TDY, where she worked as an on-air personality and morning producer. In addition to her duties at that station, Bex also worked as an entertainment reporter for KYW News Radio, and launched CBS3's "The Hot Minute" entertainment news segment. As Bex wrote in a post on Instagram, she spent a total of six years in Philadelphia media.
"This change is scary but I am sooooo ready & excited for it," Bex wrote. "Thank you Philly! I love you."
