KYW's Chris May, Jessica Dean and Kathy Orr host live coverage of the fireworks show at Penn's Landing as they look back at some of the year's major events in sports and entertainment.

* DICK CLARK'S NEW YEAR'S ROCKIN' EVE WITH RYAN SEACREST. 11:30 p.m. Wednesday, 6ABC.

By the time you finish reading the title, the ball will have dropped. Carson Daly's counting down 2014 on NBC10, if you prefer.

* THE SIMPSONS MOVIE. 7 p.m. Wednesday, FXX.

For those who'll never, ever ring in the New Year with Ryan Seacrest or Carson Daly, the long-running TV show's excellent big-screen adventure leads into a 25-hour marathon of the first and last episodes of the past 25 seasons. In chronological order, naturally.

* THE MUMMERS PARADE. 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Thursday, PHL17.

The parade's switched directions this year, so it's comforting to know that you'll find it on the same station as usual, with veteran Mummers anchor Steve Highsmith overseeing the coverage.
