MTV gives fans a first look at 'Jersey Shore Family Vacation'
They're baaaaaack.
The long-awaited MTV revival of Jersey Shore is almost here, and while the Gym-Tan-Laundry gang may be older, their partying habits are staying the same.
MTV gave fans a look at the upcoming Jersey Shore Family Vacation series with a full-length trailer this week, complete with appearances from Jersey Shore favorites like Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi, Jenni "JWoww" Farley, and Michael "The Situation" Sorrentino, among others.
Filmed in South Beach, Miami, Family Vacation is the first new Jersey Shore series from MTV since the original ended five years ago. The series premieres April 5 at 8 p.m. on MTV.
Now in their thirties, some of the original Jersey Shore cast members are — believe it or not — parents. Polizzi and Farley are both mothers of two. Ronnie Ortiz-Magro announced that he and girlfriend Jen Harley are expecting back in December.
"I love my children, but I never let loose," Farley, 32, says in the trailer. "Motherhood has made me crazy."
Sorrentino, 35, meanwhile, is facing prison time after pleading guilty to tax evasion charges earlier this year. His sentencing is scheduled for April 25, according to NJ.com. Polizzi, 30, says in the Family Reunion trailer that she fears for Sorrentino's safety in prison.
"Prison's no joke. It's scary," she says. "He's literally not going to survive."
A missing member from this year's reunion is Sammi "Sweetheart" Giancola. Giancola, 31, famously dated Ortiz-Magro in the original Jersey Shore series, but now reportedly refuses to be around him. Giancarlo is currently dating Christian Biscardi, a Jersey native and Rowan University grad.
Fans of the show, meanwhile, can catch up on past episodes on MTV, which began airing re-runs of previous Jersey Shore seasons, which filmed in Seaside Heights, this week. The network will air marathons and four Road to Vacation clip show specials every Thursday leading up to the Family Vacation premiere next month.
After that, expect more of the same drunken antics, only newer — and for a while, too. The show has already been picked up for a second season before the first episode has even aired.
"We're older, but I don't think many of us are wiser," Ortiz-Magro says in the trailer for the new series. Farley, meanwhile, adds that the group has become "classy" with age.
"As we age, we just get more…delinquency?" Polizzi says to close the trailer. "What's the word?"
