Having your little brother turn you into a TV sitcom character might have some perks, after all.

For Dr. Barry Goldberg — the real-life inspiration for the teenage Barry Goldberg, played by Troy Gentile on ABC's The Goldbergs — one of those perks is coming up on Sept. 15.

That's when the Phillies are hosting "The Goldbergs Night" in honor of the show Adam F. Goldberg created about his childhood in 1980s Jenkintown — and the Goldberg brother whom millions have come to know as "Big Tasty" will get to throw out the first pitch as the team faces the Oakland A's at Citizens Bank Park. He'll be accompanied by Gentile, and his TV writer brother also will be in attendance.

There'll be perks for fans at the game, too: themed, '80s-style slap bracelets. Look for Phillies-themed clips to show up on PhanaVision throughout the game, and for students from William Penn Charter School, the Goldbergs' alma mater, and the model for the show's William Penn Academy, to sing "Take Me Out to the Ballgame" during the seventh-inning stretch.

On the show, Barry is portrayed as the most athletically inclined of the Goldberg siblings and is occasionally seen wearing Flyers gear. (The oldest Goldberg brother, Eric, who's also a doctor, became, for TV purposes, Erica, a character played by Hayley Orrantia.)

The Goldbergs aired a Phillies-centric episode in 2015, for which the show recreated parts of the old Veterans Stadium, and the Phillie Phanatic made an appearance.
