Dan Gross: Siriusly, emails swirl about host

A WORD OF ADVICE to female fans of SiriusXM radio host Bob Edwards: Use Facebook to compliment his work and you may feel the wrath of his fiancee, WRTI news anchor Windsor Johnston.

A WORD OF ADVICE to female fans of SiriusXM radio host Bob Edwards: Use Facebook to compliment his work and you may feel the wrath of his fiancee, WRTI news anchor Windsor Johnston.

An Ohio businesswoman received a barrage of angry emails from Johnston Monday night, after, the woman says, she hailed Edwards on Facebook for posting that he'd be interviewing disgraced lobbyist Jack Abramoff yesterday. "Go Bob, You're the man," she posted. Her post has since been removed from the Facebook page of Edwards, former host of NPR's "Morning Edition."

After tracking down the woman's email address, Johnston fired off: "Are you unaware that Bob Edwards is engaged to be married? If you EVER post on his page again - well, you'd be smarter than you look."

Reached yesterday, Johnston denied sending the angry emails. She also said that the woman had "made sexual references to parts of her body that he was 'aware' of - even though they have never met."

Johnston says a friend of hers sent them without her permission, after she left her email account open on a computer. When we pointed out that the emails appeared to have come from two email accounts of hers, Johnston stuck to her story.

The woman on the receiving end asked not to be identified. She said that Johnston, 34, snidely emailed her, "What does menopause feel like?" although she is only three years older than Johnston. Edwards is 64. Another email included the seemingly unfounded suggestion that the Ohio woman was a stripper. Edwards did not return a request for comment.

Blavat book booster

Electricians union leader John Dougherty bought 1,000 copies of Jerry Blavat's book "You Only Rock Once," to distribute Dec. 9 at Local 98's Pennsylvania Society party at the Waldorf-Astoria in Manhattan, where the Geator will make an appearance.

* Meanwhile, Blavat signs copies of the book from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Black Tie Formal Wear (1120 Walnut), a few doors away from the Forrest Theatre, where "Jersey Boys" is opening that night.

The Geator says that the cast of "Jersey Boys" will stop by the book-signing and that he hopes his old friend Chubby Checker will, too.

OUT AND ABOUT * "Cake Boss" star Buddy Valastro and friends partied at the Providence nightclub inside the Tropicana Saturday, after Valastro presented his "Bakin' With the Boss" show at the Atlantic City hotel, which is celebrating its 30th year. * Actress Caroline Lagerfelt, who plays CeCe Rhodes, grandmother of Blake Lively's character on "Gossip Girl," was a guest in the Local 98 suite at Lincoln Financial Field Sunday at the Eagles/Patriots game. She's in the area working on a movie called "Red Robin." It begins shooting this week around Villanova.

Our guy at Gawker

Congratulations, we guess, to Churchville-native A.J. Daulerio, who has been named editor of the website Gawker. For several years Daulerio, also a SportsWeek contributor, has been doing a great job as editor of sports site Deadspin, which is owned by Gawker Media.

Babies on board

Better late than never to congratulate Daily News City Hall bureau chief Catherine Lucey and photographer/husband Ryan Donnell on the birth of their son, Cillian Patrick Lucey Donnell. Born Oct. 21, the little guy weighed 7 pounds, 5 ounces. His mom returns from maternity leave in March.

* In other Philadelphia Media Network maternity news, Inquirer political reporter Matt Katz and wife Deborah Hurwitz Katz, a senior art director at Digitas Health, are proud new parents of a daughter, Sadie Belle Katz, born Nov. 21 and weighing in at 6 pounds, 15 ounces.
